Tampipi ng Ugnayan + Ka-gulay FAQs
Addressing questions you might have about our Good Food Community x Hapag Ugnayan x Ugnayan Cards collaboration for co-creating healthier, more connected, and more sovereign food futures
What is Tampipi ng Ugnayan?
Tampipi ng Ugnayan is a limited time collaboration by Good Food Community, Ugnayan Cards and Hapag Ugnayan that we’re offering between June 12 to July 5, 2026, inviting you to be our ka-gulay and co-create healthier, more connected, and more sovereign food futures with us throughout the month of July (and hopefully, beyond)!
It was created not as a product or commodity but as an invitation to connect with Good Food Community’s smallholder organic farmers through a gulay subscription and to be part of our growing ka-gulay community.
Through a combination of gulay, printed guides for connection, and online and in-person community gatherings, we hope to nurture a seed of solidarity with you.

About This Project / Collaboration
What is a ka-gulay? And how can I be one?
In Tagalog, “ka-” is a prefix that indicates connection, partnership, or shared identity.
To be a ka-gulay means being someone who shares our same gulay or veggies, and through our Tampipi ng Ugnayan, someone who engages with us through Pamayanihan or Community-Shared Agriculture, a form of pagtataya or betting on small organic farmers and on growing our ka-gulay community.
What is Pamayanihan?
It is a form of Community-Shared Agriculture, or a relationship where urban-dwelling folks like you commit to subscribing to Good Food Community’s (GFC) farmers' harvest and get it delivered weekly. This assures GFC’s farmers that there's a market for their produce so they can focus on cultivating their ecological agriculture practices. It is grounded on 4 principles:
Pamana ~ Honoring and preserving our values and heritage; creating a living legacy for future generations
Pamayanan ~ Growing community through relationship- and trust-building and collective care
Anihan ~ Celebrating an abundant, diverse, zero-waste harvest when we co-design with people and nature through agroecology
Bayanihan ~ Carrying a shared responsibility, commitment, action and accountability for the flourishing of all
Why are we doing this?
We share this more fully in this post, but essentially, we believe in the power of food to bring people together, and we believe in the power of questions to unlock and deepen our connection with one another. And we think Tampipi ng Ugnayan can help bring both of that together.
One of the main challenges GFC has faced over the years is in meaningfully shifting the material conditions of farmers. This entails more than us sharing social media posts advocating for farmers’ rights; more than giving one-off donations as acts of charity.
It asks us to cultivate a culture of enoughness, of reciprocity, of justice and equity.
It invites us to see a future that is different from the dominant ways things are.
It is a refusal to resign ourselves to “the way the world works” — because that narrative is created by those who benefit from the unsustainability of it all.
It asks to live today as if that future already exists.

Schedules, Logistics & Other Practical Concerns
How much gulay is in a tampipi?
The Gulay Pambahay option is set of 10-13 kinds of ecologically and ethically grown produce, 3-3.5 kilos worth. Great for a family of 3-5 or 1-2 pax if your household is on a plant-based diet or consumes a lot of veggies.
The Small Tampipi option contains 7-10 varieties of produce, 2-2.5kg worth, that balances biodiverse choices with the realities of a small household, or of one taking tiny steps towards a healthier, plant-based diet.
What’s the schedule for the tampipi delivery?
Tampipis will be delivered for 4 weeks on Thursdays starting on July 9. So that’s July 9, 16, 23 and 30!
We will collect all orders or subscriptions from June 12 to July 5, and dispatch everyone’s first tampipi on July 9, so that you’ll have your veg in time for our first online gathering on July 11, 9:30AM-11:15AM.
I’m not sure I can finish all that gulay, and I don’t want it to go to waste. What should I do?
You can assess that after receiving your first tampipi, but there are a number of options to make sure the gulay doesn’t go to waste:
Learn how to optimize your gulay when you join our online call on July 11, 9:30AM-11:15AM to acquaint yourself with your tampipi + learn some gulay storage and prep tips from Good Food Community.
Request for bi-weekly deliveries instead of weekly deliveries to space out your gulay subscription.
Share or donate some of your gulay or tampipis to others. If you know someone who might want some veg, share with them! If you want to donate some gulay to GFC’s partner communities – whether it’s the urban poor partners in Payatas or Sitio Bakal in Quezon City, or peasant organizers turned political prisoners in the Correctional Institute for Women – there’s plenty of places for us to redistribute the veg!
I’m based outside of Metro Manila. Can I still join or subscribe?
Yes, but we are only able to send GFC gulay within Metro Manila. If you’d still like to support this campaign and the online gathering on July 11, we can convert your gulay subscription to contributions that can go to supporting GFC’s partner farmers in Capas, Tarlac and Bauko, Benguet, political prisoners in the Correctional Institute for Women, Mandaluyong or urban poor partners in Sitio Bakal, Quezon City.
Add a note to your order to specify that you will be donating your gulay elsewhere.
Arrangements on the delivery of your Ugnayan Cards will be fulfilled separately ℅ Ugnayan Cards for deliveries outside of Metro Manila but within the Philippines, and ℅ Kim Saira for deliveries within the US.
I already have the Ugnayan Cards. Can I just purchase the Tampipi ng Ugnayan separately?
If you already have your own deck, you could opt to get another one for gifting to someone whose connection or friendship you’re grateful for. You could also opt to avail Ugnayan postcards in place of the conversation card deck.
Should you choose the postcards, you will be given 4 sets that you can share with friends. The SRP for the deck is P1,480, while the SRP for the postcard sets is P370, so 4 sets of that will amount to P1,480 as well. You may specify this swap request through an email reply to your order confirmation from Good Food Community, cc-ing ugnayancards@gmail.com.
